Chase: Suspect leads LAPD on long-term slow-motion chase in Mid-City

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – A driver led police in a slow chase on surface streets in the Mid-City area Friday night.

There were several times in the chase where the driver would stop the car and come out to point at police officers and make hand gestures to simulate a gun being fired.

Each time the driver stopped, he sat back in the car and continued driving at speeds that would not exceed 40 mph.

Several LAPD patrol vehicles were behind him as the driver, a possible suspect in the assault, kept driving and stopping.

The man was possibly armed, police said.

It appeared that tip strips inserted by the police managed to flatten the tires on the suspect’s vehicle.

AIR7 HD was past the hunt around noon. 22.50, and the driver continued to flee from the police after kl. 12.30 Saturday.
