Beth Appleton has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Australian music start-up Jaxsta.
Appleton’s new role takes effect immediately.
Jaxsta Founder and former CEO Jacqui Louez-Schoorl will continue in the role of Founder and will be responsible for developing established and new music industry relationships.
Appleton first came to Jaxsta in July 2021 as its Chief Marketing Officer.
Appleton has previously served as General Manager and Senior Vice President Marketing Australasia at Warner Music Australia (2018-2021), overseeing campaigns for artists such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Twenty One Pilots and Michael Bublé.
Appleton’s previous roles also include Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Warner Music Group in the UK (2014-2018); Marketing Director Warner Music Australia (2011-2013); Director of Digital at Universal Music Group in the UK (2007-2010); and Head of Digital and Business Development at V2 Music in the UK (2003-2007).
As CEO, Appleton will be tasked with developing and operating Jaxsta’s ongoing marketing strategy when it returns to a paid subscription service on July 27 with Jaxsta Pro.
In September 2020, Songtradr invested AUS $ 1.42 million (approximately USD $ 1.03m) in Jaxsta and also signed a five-year exclusive commercial agreement with a revenue sharing scheme between the companies.
The partnership was the first deal announced by Songtradr since the company announced a Series C capital increase of $ 30 million. USD in 2020.
