Are the banks open on Easter Sunday?

The holiday weekend continues today, with Easter Day ends the four-day break.

Various high street stores are closed or operate with reduced opening hours, including DIY stores like B&Q and supermarkets like Lidl and Waitrose.

But if you want to make economic changes today, are banks so open?

Read on to find out if your branch is up and running.

Are the banks open on Easter Sunday?

Almost all banks are closed across the UK on Easter Sunday.

Branches of the following will not open today:

  • HSBC
  • Barclays
  • TSB
  • Royal Bank of Scotland
  • Lloyd’s
  • Halifax
  • Nation-wide
  • NatWest
  • Santander

The only bank that has not reduced its opening hours is Metro Bank – all its branches are open on Easter Sunday from 10.00 to kl. 16.00

If you need to contact your bank while it is closed, many have online chat services that allow you to talk to an adviser.

Most branches will also have emergency fraud open, so IIf you have an immediate problem with your card, it should still be possible to cancel it.
