Apple Music and the iOS App Store had issues

If you’re an Apple user, you may have seen some issues with the App Store or Apple Music. On Monday, Apple’s system status page listed issues affecting “all users” for both services that were noticed since 11:41 ET without going into detail about what the issues are. In our tests, the App Store and Apple Music are both generally operational, but users noticed issues for several hours before resolving them.

9to5Mac previously reported that Apple’s privacy labels did not appear on many App Store listings, citing a source confirming that it was a bug that would soon be fixed.

Posters on Reddit have seen problems with Apple Music, which lacks text information, Dolby Atmos and lossless sound from songs, where it should have these features, while some report that they are unable to play music even when downloaded to their local warehouse for offline listening. Some users said that logging in and out solved the missing lossless audio features for them, but not the missing texts. We were able to confirm the issue of lyrics as shown below.

Now Apple’s status page has been updated, marking issues with both services as resolved. The timeline for the issue is now marked as 4:15 AM – 12:02 PM, which may be consistent with what users experienced if set to Pacific Time. On our site, the text features work and the privacy labels are back in place, and hopefully your downloaded songs will play again.
