Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have repeated their roles as PJ and Duncan, and it’s honestly the best ever.

The iconic Geordie duo return to their roots from the children’s TV show Byker Grove, which came on screen in 1990 and is basically responsible for making Saturday night what they are today.

Ant and Dec, both 46, met in the drama series – which aired until 2006 – and formed a close friendship, sharing story lines in the show and also an off-screen tape.

Now PJ and Duncan have made a comeback for an ad for Santander, for which the presenters became ambassadors in 2019.

New photos show the lovable duality lurking around on bikes and wearing baggy sweatshirts and backpacks.

Ant can be seen in a bright yellow hoodie and seriously bagged jeans that complete his look with a baseball cap and red backpack.

As for December, father-in-law wore jeans in light wash, a green sweater and bomber jacket, and looked extra cool with a gold chain and a blue cap that he was wearing in reverse.

The two saw the world away from their usual I polished as we are used to seeing them look sharp in designer suits when hosting our favorite TV shows.

They seemed to have a whale of a time when they let go of their inner teens, and it’s not surprising that they had smiles on their faces when Ant and Dec were reportedly paid £ 1 million each to repeat their naughty roller.

Ant and Dec were only 13 years old when they met in their Byker Grove days, where the show tackled hard-hitting issues in the series “coming of age” about a youth center in Newcastle.

Without a doubt the most memorable PJ and Duncan moment from the show was when PJ (Ant) was blinded during a paintball match between Grovers and their rivals from Denton Burn.

If you ask someone to mention a famous quote from the show, it’s likely they will immediately think, ‘He can not see, man!’, Which is what Duncan (dec) said after his friend was caught in the incident.

I’m a celebrity … Get me out of here! presenters have never tried to distance themselves from their roots and often refer to their PJ and Duncan days.

One of the double’s most iconic moments from that time was in the show’s fifth series, in 1993, when PJ and Duncan started a band and went on to sign a record deal.

Ant and Dec went on to record a successful album in real life, releasing the blockbuster Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble in 1994 as the third single from their debut studio album Psyche.

It topped number nine on the UK charts and became # 1 almost two decades after its original hit chart appearance in 2014, with the pair delighting fans by performing on Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant and Dec decided to retire their PJ and Duncan personas in the late 90’s and wanted to become known exclusively as Ant and Dec.

It is safe to say that it worked well for them as they had children’s TV careers with SMTV – along with Cat Deeley – and a host of other presentation concerts followed.

Now we can not get enough of Ant and Dec, and love to tune in to e.g. Saturday Night Takeaway, I’m A Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent to catch up on their latest fool.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
