Ankur Patel Appointed Chief Business Officer at Venice Music

Ankur Patel has joined the music and technology platform Venice Music as Chief Business Officer.

At Venice, co-founded by Troy Carter and Suzy Ryoo, Patel will focus on driving the company’s sustainable growth and scale strategy, as it aims to accelerate towards a new model for the independent music ecosystem, Venice says.

Prior to joining Venice, Patel was an executive at music technology company Splice, most recently as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, overseeing M&A, commercial partnerships and internal strategy.

During his time there, Patel helped spearhead nine acquisitions and brought in-house creators, music catalogs and technologists to Splice’s subscription business and technology portfolio.

He also helped enter into strategic partnerships with e.g. Adobe, TikTok and Spotify-owned Soundtrap.

Patel joins a growing list of new executives in Venice.

In February, Beth Cherry joined the company as its Head of Streaming, UK.

Isobel Kelly also joined as Head of Alt / Pop Streaming US, while Jamal Jimoh was named Head of Hip Hop / R & B Streaming (US).
