An understanding between the Sorbonne and Abu Dhabi’s international courts

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts during a meeting held at the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi campus. The MoU was signed by Professor Silvia Serrano, President of the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Linda Fitz-Alain, Attorney General and CEO of ADGM Courts.
According to the memorandum, this legal program will support the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts, which were represented in their establishment of the Free Legal Aid Program, by building a supervised framework for law students at the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi. This program will integrate students into the legal work offered by volunteer lawyers for free, to serve those in need of completing their legal proceedings and resolving litigation in the jurisdiction of the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts.
Professor Silvia Serrano, Rector of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, said: “MoU is in line with our continued efforts to establish fruitful partnerships with leaders and pioneers in various fields, exchange experiences and strengthen aspects of cooperation in areas of common interest. this initiative the university’s commitment and willingness to support students and arm them with the expertise and skills that will pave the way for them to succeed in their careers and prepare them for the job market.
Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar and CEO of ADGM Courts, said: “We are pleased to embark on this effective initiative with the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. This collaboration aims to support law students at the university, provide opportunities for learning by experienced lawyers and legal professionals and work on cases in the real world with clients seeking legal assistance in urgent legal matters.
