Director Amr Arafa defended the “look” of the heroes of his latest film, “The People of the Cave,” who appear without thick hair and long chins, according to the mental image drawn by some of those who read the story of the People of the Cave, which has slept for more than three centuries.
He wrote on his account on the site “X” in response to criticism addressed to him by some of his subscribers: “After research, it became clear that they were in the same condition as them and that their hair or nails were not long.”
It is worth noting that the film “The People of the Cave” is adapted from a novel by the late writer Tawfiq Al-Hakim, dramatized by Ayman Bahjat Qamar, directed by Amr Arafa and starring Khaled El-Nabawy, Ghada Adel, Mohamed Mamdouh, Ahmed Eid, Mohamed Farrag, Basant Shawky, Mahmoud Hamida and Bayoumi Fouad, as well as a number of other artists, and it was screened as part of the films of the Eid al-Adha season and achieved revenues amounting to about 12 million pounds, at the bottom of the list of cinema revenues this season.
