Tracey Gold, Catherine Hicks

Paula Lane starred in the 1989 film Good night, sweet Marilynwhich was a sequel to the 1976s Good night, Norma Jean. The movie is directed by Larry Buchanan and also starred Misty Rowewho portrayed before-she-was-famous Norma Jean in the 1976 film.

Susan Griffiths

Actress Susan Griffiths starred in the 1991 television movie Marilyn & me, but her portrayal of the famous icon went far beyond one project. Barbara Niven played the screen goddess in the 1998s Rat pack, an HBO made for TV movies. Barbara portrayed Marilyn in the “Rat Pack” scene in the 50’s and 60’s, along with Ray Liotta as Frank Sinatra, Joe Mantegna as Dean Martin, Don Cheadle as Sammy David Jr.and Angus Macfayden as Peter Lawford. Sinatra introduces Marilyn to John F. Kennedy in the film – a mystified and historical battle in history – and the story shows the actress who sees the politician behind the back of her then husband, baseball star Joe DiMaggio.

Uma Thurman, Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty

Three actresses, Uma Thurman, Katharine McPheeand Megan Hiltyeach took their turn as the legendary star of the 2012 TV series Smash. The show, which lasted for two seasons, was about the staging of the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical called Bomb.

Michelle Williams mastered the breathtaking, ethereal Marilyn in the 2011 film My week with Marilyn which told the story of a very special week in the time when Marilyn made the 1957 film The prince and the showgirl. The story also came along Eddie Redmayne as the naive but ambitious Colin Clarke who worked as a production assistant at Laurence Olivier-produced image. Clarke was given the task of assisting Marilyn in the London production, while her husband at the time was a playwright Arthur Miller, was back in the States. The two inevitably shared an intimate relationship.

Both Michelle and Kenneth Branagh (who played Olivier) received Oscar nominations for their roles, and the film was critically acclaimed and also grossed $ 35 million worldwide.

Anne of arms is the latest actress to take on the role of Marilyn in the film adaptation of the author Joyce Carol Oats‘2000 historical novel Blonde, which tells of the imaginary inner life of the epic star. Ana recently told Sunday Times about the “hard” work it took to step into the shoes of the deceased actresses for the role, and work on perfecting her signature, airy voice.

“I tried!” that Knives Out the actress told the newspaper. “It only took me nine months of dialect coaching and exercises and some ADR sessions. It was a big torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried.”
