More than 40,000 people attended Eid in the Park in Small Heath, and 2,000 attended the festivities at Edgbaston Stadium, including some who had traveled great distances to be there
It has been a day to remember in Birmingham. The first chance in a long time for a large number of families to meet to celebrate Eid in the city.
The festivities mark the end of a month-long Ramadan fast, and there was great joy in Small Heath Park and at Edgbaston Stadium. Eid Ul Fitr prayers were first heard at both events before people continued to enjoy the amusement park, food stalls and sports and community activities.
More than 40,000 people attended the Small Heath event, and 2,000 went to the celebrations at Edgbaston Stadium, including some who had traveled long distances to be there.
