The General Command of the Sharjah Police confirmed the success of its comprehensive security plan, which it implemented during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday in all cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, reflecting the extent of the strategic efficiency with which all the competent management authorities and strategic partners acted.
Colonel Jassim bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, director of the operations department at Sharjah Police, said the efforts of the various work teams at mosques, commercial centers and parks helped the success of the plan, which was drawn up to establish safety and security and improve the quality of life under it. blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
He revealed that the Sharjah police operations room and call center received 42,042 phone calls across the emirate between April 29 and May 8, including 39,008 phone calls via the 999 number designated for emergencies, while it received 3,034 non-emergency calls . on the 901 number, which included general inquiries and provided police services.
He pointed out that all incoming calls, reports and inquiries were processed immediately after being evaluated by the first responder with the aim of ensuring the speed of movement to the point of communication, in coordination with other police departments within the framework of reducing response time.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Boghanim, Deputy Director of the Sharjah Police Traffic and Patrol Department, confirmed the success of the traffic plan developed and implemented by the department during the Eid holiday with the participation of various units in the Sharjah Police. .
He pointed out that the awareness and commitment of motorists and road users in road safety procedures and their compliance with them helped the roadmap to succeed, and the number of accidents fell, resulting in two accidents resulting in serious injuries during the Eid holiday, despite heavy street traffic and internal and external roads.
He explained that the administration took all measures in accordance with the plan drawn up to ensure road safety, which was the success factor achieved to achieve “zero” deaths, while praising the efforts of all employees in the administration and all police. units of the Sharjah police during the days of the Eid holiday, which had a major impact.
